What is a Pattern

A Pattern is a set of Taekwon-do

Movements/Techniques in a Sequance consisting of Blocking, Strikes, Punches, Kicks, Dodging, Changing dirction and Breathing control


A Beginner Student 10KUP would start with learning a 4 directional Punch exercise

(SAJO JIRUGI No 1 & No 2) there also are variation of similar exercise called

4 directional Block (Sajo Makgi).

After a while when a student has achieved a good standard a student can  take part in a Promotional test, this is called a Grading


On passing your grading, you then move up to a new grade you would receive a new coloured belt or a stripe belt, you will also be shown a new exercise or pattern to learn depending on what you graded to and new techniques or move to be add to your knowlege base
